After my son was born, I knew that we were going to eventually have another kid, so I saved everything. Five years later when I had my daughter, there wasn’t very much that I needed to buy in terms of big baby items, including a stroller. Our stroller was still in great shape, and I didn’t feel the need for a double stroller. That is…until we started planning our Orlando Spring Break trip.
Dru is 6 but is still a napper. If he gets the opportunity to lay or sit still at some point in the day, he will pass right out. Any car ride longer than 10 minutes and he is done. So when we were planning our trip to the theme parks, I knew I was going to need a stroller that worked for both kids for whenever Dru got tired or needed a place to sit or relax. None of my friends had a double stroller to borrow, and truthfully, I really didn’t want to lug a double stroller in the car down there. I was trying to “pack light”. (I am literally laughing at myself typing that)
A friend of mine let me know that there are stroller rental companies in Orlando that you can rent all kinds of strollers from. Singles, doubles, you name it! I did a quick Google and found Kingdom Strollers, who are a featured Disney provider. They had an awesome variety and they DELIVERED to your hotel! I sent an email to ask which stroller they recommended and they were SUPER fast at replying and had great information and ideas. I had to ask if it was a problem that we were going to need drop off at one hotel and pick up at another. It wasn’t. I placed an order to rent a Summit X3 Double. Done and done.
After checking in at Royal Pacific, I went to the bellhop area and asked if they had the stroller for me. They went to the back and came back rolling it out! It was there waiting for me. Gave it a quick once over and then headed to the room.
I didn’t think the double stroller would fit through the door, but it totally did! Then I got to take a better look at it. It had an awesome drink holder with a pocket attached to one side, and underneath was a cooler and the rain cover for the stroller.
The more we used the stroller, the more we saw the cool features it had! Lay down seats, sun shades that go FAR down to block, but also flaps on the side you could put up for air circulation and flaps on the top so you could still see the baby/big kid.
There was also TONS of room under the stroller. The first couple of days I was putting changes of clothes under there in case we got wet in the park along with sunscreen, the cooler with snacks, the rain cover, and a big water bottle!
And, as I predicted, my son took a FAT nap in the stroller. Multiple times. The baby took a couple snoozes, but Dru slept for hours in that thing. Cadence kept looking in trying to mess with him! It was hilarious.
Our last day at Universal, it rained! Time to bust out the rain cover, which was SO awesome!! It did a great job of keeping the stroller dry while we were on a ride, and then we pulled up the front of it and put the kids in there and the stroller AND the kids stayed dry! It fit the stroller like a glove! I was SO glad we decided to get the rain cover.
At the end of our trip, I just brought the stroller to the bellhop station in the lobby of our second hotel and they knew exactly what to do with it. SO easy! I will 100% without question be using Kingdom Strollers again for future trips! One less thing for me to have to worry about remembering to pack and one less thing we had to lug out of the car when we got home after a fun filled but exhausting trip. Do yourself a favor and let Kingdom Strollers take care of the lugging for you!
